Kevin & Stacy

Growing up, I had the Incredible joy of having two parents who made sure I knew I was loved, and who acted as  the most amazing teachers.

My dad, Kevin, is an attorney originally from Arizona and then Vermont. He coached me in soccer and basketball, taught be how to be an independent thinker, a caretaker, and gave me an amazing set of morals along with a love of musical theater. Thank you for letting me believe that no one died on the Titanic and that Shackleton's dogs were all okay.

My mom, Stacy, an English teacher from Buffalo, New York, was my actual teacher In 6th grade. She gave me my love of stories, taught me how to enjoy the quiet and peace of a lake, and instilled in me more empathy than anyone could ask for. Thank you for letting me know that magic Is real, it's just often written down.

To the moon and back,

Sophie & Paul

My parents, Paul and Sophie, have always been patient and given me the chance to figure out my own path (even when that meant driving me to theater camp on Saturday mornings). I’m grateful that as an adult, I’ve gotten to know and love them as people as well as parents.

Sophie taught me to be curious about the world around me. By the time she was a teenager, she had lived in Saskatchewan, Colorado, Kenya and Alabama. Her parents, both Hungarian immigrants, instilled in her compassion and understanding which she shows to all. In addition to working as a doctor, she is a writer and advocate who cares deeply about improving the wellbeing of those around her. She has mastered emojis, and now turns her attention to gifs.

Paul taught me that knowing something is not the same as talking about it (I say ‘taught’ but mean ‘is teaching’). If he isn’t at home, he’s in the wilderness looking for a particular subspecies of woodpecker with Betty, their dog, bounding beside him. He shares my love of the science fiction genre, and is always happy to talk with me about topics from nuclear power to improv comedy (he’s got range). He’s also an avid D&D player, provided his character gets a̶ ̶p̶e̶t̶  ̶h̶a̶w̶k̶ to be an experienced falconer.
